Giant Rubber Duck Ruins Dreamy Seascape Bath in Electronics Brand TCL Spot

Marketing agency Fearlessly Frank and Deadbeat Films, the companies behind the award-winning Jimmy's Iced Coffee rap videos, have once again teamed up to create yet more fun-loving commercials.

This time with dazzlingly cinematic underwater cinematography, director Boris Thomson-Roylance takes viewers into a dreamlike seascape, only to be rudely interrupted by a giant, subaquatic rubber duck!

Immersive in every sense of the word, the spot for Chinese electronics brand TCL boasts an electrifying soundscape from Speakman Sound and once again shows the cinematic flair as well as the light-hearted humour that both FF and Deadbeat bring to the world of commercials.

HAPPY EARTH DAY!!

As it’s #EarthDay we want to talk about our latest environmental film on the Kogi tribe of The Don Diego Basin. 🌍

An indigenous people, they consider themselves to be here as guardians of the earth, and are horrified by our attempts to destroy it.

In 2018, we had the honour of being invited into their community to tell their story, in partnership with the official charity for the Kogi community, the Tariona Heritage Trust: https://lnkd.in/eBi9h9r

The impact campaign had 4 aims:
1. To offer the Kogi a voice
2. To learn from the Kogi on environmental management and publicise that knowledge.
3. To protect the environment of the Kogi
4. To educate the next generation

The film features a stunning soundtrack by Mercury Prize-nominated Nick Mulvey (a huge supporter of the Kogi people), and will be released later this year!

AYMAN SUCCESS

Making our film AYMAN had such a profound and lasting effect on all of us here at Deadbeat Films.

Not only did we get a first-hand view of the struggles that refugees from all over the world face when trying to make it to the UK, but we also made a lifelong friend in the process.

Ayman Alhussein was forced out of Syria as a 22-year-old and made the treacherous journey to the UK by himself.

We met him in Calais and four years later we’re proud to say that he's now a valued member of our team here at Deadbeat! Give him a follow and keep a lookout for his upcoming film work.

The film itself just picked up yet another award, as Best of the Festival at the Depth of Field Festival 2021 and we've got exciting news about distribution come very soon! 😋

DEADBEAT BACK IN ACTION WITH SECRET CINEMA

Our Official Video for Secret Cinema’s Stranger Things has been released!

This was our last major Deadbeat Live gig in the pre-covid era, but with a summer looking likely to go ahead, we’ve got all sorts of festivals and frivolities on the horizon!

Congratulations to the team at Secret Cinema for everything they did on this production. Teaming up with Netflix to reimagine an iconic TV series was going to be a challenge, however this was seriously one of their greatest productions yet.

It was great to be part of such an ambitious venture that is truly innovating the cinematic live experience!
